North Bodyboard Club has replaced the previously well known North Burleigh Bodyboard Club as a fun filled environment for all ages covering North Goldy
formally run as North Burleigh Bodyboard Club many years ago, it’s absence in the bodyboarding industry was greatly missed. Many riders have come and gone since the days of the original club, but the competition scene has become such a strong presence in the sport, especially on the Gold Coast. North Bodyboard Club was founded by Inverted Gold Coast owner/manager Jarryd Watson and it has been a project 1 and a half years in the making.
NBC see’s a diverse group of bodyboarders spanning from all regions surrounding the Northern end of the Gold Coast, which come together in monthly competitions starting in March 2012. Round 1 will see us kick off at our home break North Burleigh on Sunday the 18th of March. Throughout the year we will be covering a large variety of beach breaks from as far north as the Spit, to as far south as Palm Beach.
Here at North Bodyboard Club with its relaxed style, is bringing back the mateship and camaraderie that has seemed to have disappeared from our beloved sport over the years, which may have caused many riders to stop competing in local clubs. NBC brings a fine balance of fun and competitiveness to the events, through the days competition and also the inclusion of free-surfing expression sessions. We cater for all ages starting from 12 years old and all categories including boy’s, men’s, girls and drop knee.
Here at North Bodyboard Club everyone is equal, regardless of their age, ability or the board they ride. No one will be treated differently. We are all here for the same reason and that’s because we are a community of mates that love the sport bodyboarding.
